The short version: GlassQ does not collect, store or share any personal data. There is no account, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising and no cloud. We run no servers that your data could reach.
What stays on your devices
Video and audio: GlassQ Cam uses the camera and microphone only to record what you ask it to record. Takes are saved on your iPhone. A take moves to your Mac only when you choose to save it, and only over your own Wi-Fi network or USB cable.
Scripts and settings: your prompter scripts, Looks and preferences are stored on your own devices.
Pairing: when you pair an iPhone and a Mac, each device keeps a pairing key in its Keychain so they can recognise each other later. The connection between them is encrypted and never leaves your local network.
Local network
GlassQ uses your local network to find and connect your iPhone and Mac. The optional browser control page is served by your iPhone on your local network only and is protected by a one-time code. None of this traffic goes to the internet.
Location
When you turn on browser control, GlassQ Cam may ask for location permission. iOS requires it before an app can see which Wi-Fi network you are on. GlassQ uses it only on your iPhone to check that the network is password-protected. It never records, stores or sends your location.
Photos
If you choose to save a take to your Photos library, GlassQ asks for permission to add it there. It does not read your existing photos.
Purchases
GlassQ Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple handles payment, and we never see your name, email or card details. Your iPhone checks Apple’s signed purchase record on the device and shares it with your paired Mac over your local connection so the Mac can unlock Pro. Apple’s privacy policy covers the purchase itself: apple.com/legal/privacy.
Crash reports
If you have turned on “Share with App Developers” in your iPhone or Mac settings, Apple may share anonymous crash and usage reports with us. You can turn this off at any time in Settings › Privacy and Security › Analytics and Improvements.
Children
GlassQ is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, of any age.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete. Your recordings and scripts are yours, on your devices, and you can delete them at any time. This applies wherever you live, including under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the EU GDPR.
Changes
If GlassQ ever starts collecting any data, we will update this page before that version ships and change the date at the top.
