Act 01Telecaller alternatives

Six ways to call your leads without one more hire

The main alternatives to hiring a telecaller in India are a telecalling agency (₹10,000 to ₹35,000 a month on IndiaMART), IVR and call routing, WhatsApp auto-replies, a self-serve AI calling platform from ₹3.50 a minute, or a done-for-you AI telecaller. Brand Bakery's is ₹22,500 a month plus ₹50,000 setup and calls every enquiry within a minute.

Act 02Side by side

Six options, one job

The job: call every new enquiry fast, ask your questions, book the visit and follow up until the lead decides. Here is what each option costs and where it falls short.

  • Hire one more telecaller

₹12,000 to ₹17,000 a month for a fresher, ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 experienced, before incentives (Delhi)

Fits: Relationship selling, negotiation and buyers who want one person they know.

The catch: Office hours only, one call at a time, and hiring and training again when they leave.

  • A telecalling agency

₹10,000 to ₹35,000 a month as listed on IndiaMART, by hours, callers and volume

Fits: Short campaigns to your existing customers that need many callers for a few weeks.

The catch: Calls happen in the shift you pay for, reports often come at day end, and some agencies cold call. Ask which.

  • IVR and call routing

From ₹5,000 a month billed yearly (MyOperator), plus GST

Fits: Sending incoming calls to whoever on your team is free.

The catch: A person still has to pick up and call back. It never calls a new enquiry on its own.

  • WhatsApp Business auto-replies

The WhatsApp Business app, from the app stores

Fits: An instant greeting, and an away message outside business hours.

The catch: The same fixed text to everyone. Nobody calls, nothing gets qualified and nothing gets booked.

  • A self-serve AI calling platform

From ₹3.50 a minute on Sarvam before GST, about ₹5.52 on Bolna, with telephony on top

Fits: Teams with a developer who can build, connect and maintain the agent.

The catch: You write the call flow, wire up your lead sources, follow the calling rules and fix it when calls go wrong.

  • Brand Bakery AI telecaller

₹22,500 a month plus ₹50,000 setup, with 2,000 minutes, then ₹8 a minute. No GST added

Fits: Calling every new enquiry within a minute, at any hour you allow, with every call logged in your sheet.

The catch: It is not a closer for big negotiations. It hands those to your team with the notes ready.

Act 03Honest limits

When a hire is still the answer

An AI telecaller is fast and steady. It is not a closer for every deal, and we will tell you so on the call.

Keep these for

  • Large deals where the buyer wants a relationship with one person
  • Negotiation beyond the offers and discounts you have written down
  • Site visits, demos and meetings in person

Act 04How it fits

The setup we recommend

Most businesses mix two of these. Keep your best caller for the buyers who are ready to talk, and let the AI telecaller take the first call on every new enquiry within a minute, ask your qualifying questions, book the visit and run the follow-ups. Incoming calls only? The AI Receptionist is ₹10,000 a month plus ₹30,000 setup.

Act 05Within the rules

Rules it never breaks

It calls people who asked to hear from you, says it is an AI and follows TRAI's rules for commercial calls.

How calls and data are handled: Data safety

On every call it

  • Calls only people who asked to be contacted: a form, a portal enquiry, a missed call or a callback request.
  • Tells callers it is an AI assistant at the start of every call.
  • Announces at the start of every call that it is recorded.
  • Follows TRAI commercial communication rules, with DLT registration in place before any outbound messaging.
  • Handles personal data under the DPDP Act, with a data processing agreement in your contract.

Act 06Sample call

Hear it on the phone

A staged call with synthetic voices and an invented business, run by the same rules a real one is.

Transcript AI demo call
  1. Hi, this is the AI assistant from Greenfield Homes. You asked about our two-bedroom apartments in Whitefield about ten minutes ago. This call is recorded. Is now a good time?
  2. Yes, go ahead. I mainly wanted to know the price range.
  3. Two-bedroom homes at Greenfield Whitefield start at ninety-two lakh rupees, and the final price depends on the floor and facing. Is this for you to live in, or as an investment?
  4. To live in. We’re moving from Pune in about four months.
  5. That works well. Our second tower is ready to move into by February. Roughly what budget are you comfortable with?
  6. Around one crore, including registration.
  7. Thank you. A mid-floor, east-facing home would fit that well. Would you like to see the site this weekend? I can do Saturday at eleven, or Sunday at four.
  8. Saturday at eleven. Can you give me a better price if I book on the visit?
  9. I can’t promise a discount myself, but I’ll pass that to our sales manager, Priya. She’ll be at the site on Saturday and can walk you through any current offers.
  10. Okay, fine.
  11. Great. You’re booked for Saturday at eleven. I’m sending the location pin and a floor-plan brochure on WhatsApp now. Have a good day!

Act 07Questions

Before you decide

What can I use instead of hiring a telecaller?

A telecalling agency, IVR and call routing, WhatsApp auto-replies, a self-serve AI calling platform, or a done-for-you AI telecaller. Only the last two call a new enquiry on their own, at any hour. The others either need a person to call back or never call at all.

What is the cheapest alternative to a telecaller?

Per minute, a self-serve AI calling platform, from about ₹3.50 a minute on Sarvam before GST and telephony. You still pay in hours to build and maintain it. A done-for-you AI telecaller costs more and includes that work: ours is ₹22,500 a month plus ₹50,000 setup.

Can an AI telecaller replace my telecaller?

It takes over the first call, the qualifying questions, the bookings and the follow-ups. Your people keep the conversations that need judgment, and get more time for them.

Can the AI telecaller make cold calls?

No. It calls only people who asked to be contacted: a portal enquiry, an ad form, a website form or a missed call. Cold lists are out of scope.

Will the people it calls know it is an AI?

Yes. Every call starts with the AI saying it is an AI assistant, and a notice that the call is recorded.
