Distributor Order Desk Calculator
For distributors and wholesalers: see how much of your team's day goes on taking retailer orders by phone and WhatsApp, and how many orders arrive after the desk closes.
Staff hours on taking orders
120 a month
Out of 234 desk hours a month, that is about 51% of one person's working day spent taking orders, before any dispatch, billing or collection work.
Your week, midnight to midnight
Desk takes orders 8 am to 10 pm, the window the estimate uses
- Orders after the desk closes (estimate)
- 45%
- Orders a month that wait for the next opening
- 539
- Longest wait
- 39 hours, Saturday 7 pm to Monday 10 am
- Order value waiting for the next opening each month
- ₹43,10,204
The estimate assumes orders arrive evenly from 8 am to 10 pm, every day. Your WhatsApp timestamps will be closer. This value is waiting, not lost: a regular retailer usually waits for the morning. The cost is the morning pile-up, rushed entries, and the shop that needed stock today and rang someone else.

Questions owners ask
Straight answers
What counts as one order?
One retailer placing one order, whether it comes as a call, a WhatsApp message, a voice note or a photo of a handwritten list. Count the orders your team keyed into billing last month.
Where does the after-hours estimate come from?
If you leave that field blank, the calculator assumes orders arrive evenly from 8 am to 10 pm, every day, and counts the share that falls outside your desk hours. It is arithmetic, not a survey. The timestamps in your order WhatsApp will give a better figure.
Are after-hours orders lost?
Usually not. A regular retailer waits for the morning. The cost is the morning pile-up, mistakes when orders are keyed in a rush, and the retailer who needed stock today and called another distributor. We do not have a reliable figure for how often that happens, so the calculator does not price it.
What does "people on orders" mean?
The hours your team spends taking orders, divided by the hours the desk is open. 0.5 means half of one person's working day goes on taking orders. 2 means two people do nothing else.
