How 109 Delhi NCR businesses handle a new enquiry (October 2026)

We looked at how 109 Delhi NCR businesses that buy leads answer a new enquiry. 80% already have a WhatsApp button. The gaps are phone calls, office hours that end at 6:30 or 8 pm while ads run all week, forms that promise no reply time, and Gmail inboxes.

Most businesses that buy leads believe their problem is lead quality. So in October 2026 we looked at the other side: what actually happens when someone tries to contact them.

We checked 109 established Delhi NCR businesses across five segments that pay for enquiries: real estate (37), clinics (28), coaching institutes (22), interior designers (12) and solar installers (10). We didn't name anyone, and we won't. This is our own small sample from one month, not an industry statistic, but the patterns were clear enough to share.

How we did this. We reviewed each business's public website, Google Maps listing, Meta Ad Library entries and Google Ads Transparency page, checked on 21 October 2026. A second reviewer re-checked a sample of the findings, and 96% of re-checked claims matched. We looked only at public information. We did not call or message any business, and we don't publish names, screenshots or anything that identifies one.

The figures at a glance

  • 80% (87 of 109) have a WhatsApp click-to-chat button on their website.
  • 21% (23 of 109) publish a Gmail address as their business inbox.
  • 32% of real estate businesses (12 of 37) have no WhatsApp or chat on their website.
  • 64% of clinics (18 of 28) ran Google ads in the previous 30 days, and 36% (10 of 28) run 10 or more Meta ads.
  • 36% of clinics (10 of 28) use a Gmail inbox.
  • 95% of coaching institutes (21 of 22) have WhatsApp, and 59% (13 of 22) advertise on Google.
  • 30% of solar installers (3 of 10) have no WhatsApp. That's a small sample, so read it as indicative.

Five things we found

1. The WhatsApp button is everywhere, and it isn't the fix. 87 of the 109 (80%) already have a WhatsApp click-to-chat button, and 12 also run a live-chat widget. Adding another chat button won't help most of them. The gaps are the phone call and how fast the first reply comes.

2. Office hours end when buyers start looking. Where hours were published, they ended at 6:30 pm or 8 pm, and two excluded weekends entirely. The same businesses run ads all day, every day. One contact page promises a reply "within 24 hours on business days". For a Friday-night enquiry, that's Monday.

3. Forms ask for a number and promise nothing. Most enquiry forms say some version of "our team will connect with you", with no time attached. The few that do commit say 30 minutes, which is a hard promise to keep at 11 pm.

4. Gmail runs the front desk. 23 of 109 (21%) publish a Gmail address as their business inbox, including some running dozens of ads. A personal-style inbox is easy to miss, hard to share and gives no record of who replied.

5. Too many doors. Several businesses list three or four phone numbers, WhatsApp, and one or two websites, with nothing saying which one handles new enquiries. The buyer picks one at random, and it may not be the one anybody watches.

Real estate (37 businesses)

The weakest on basics. 12 of 37 have no WhatsApp or chat on the website at all, and 3 have no tap-to-call link either. Developers that advertise send ads to project microsites, while the main site's published hours often skip the weekend, which is exactly when families do site visits.

Clinics (28)

The heaviest advertisers in our sample: 10 of 28 run 10 or more Meta ads, and 18 ran Google ads in the previous 30 days. Yet 10 of 28 use a Gmail inbox, and front desks close at 8 pm while the ads keep running. For clinics, the fix is operational: answer calls, reply to messages and book appointments when patients reach out. NMC's advertising guidelines of 6 October 2026 limit what clinics may promote, so the gains here come from answering well, not advertising more. Our AI receptionist checklist for clinics covers the setup.

Coaching institutes (22)

Almost all have WhatsApp (21 of 22) and most advertise on Google (13 of 22). The gap is the callback: "Request a call back" buttons sit next to seasonal offers, desks close at 8 pm, and students enquire after self-study at 10 or 11 pm. Some institutes share a single line between admissions and tech support.

Interior designers (12)

High-value projects, slow first replies. Families plan a new home at night and ask two or three firms at once, so the firm that replies first, with sensible questions, usually gets the site measurement.

Solar installers (10)

A small sample, so read it as indicative only. 3 of 10 have no WhatsApp and 2 have no tap-to-call link. Buyers ask the same five questions (subsidy, roof, bill, load, loan), which makes fast, consistent answers very achievable.

What this means for your business

None of these gaps need a bigger ad budget. They need a few checks and a decision about who answers new enquiries outside office hours:

  1. Tap your own WhatsApp button and call your own number from a phone that isn't saved in your contacts. Do it tonight at 9 pm.
  2. Pick one number and one inbox for new enquiries, and make it obvious on every page.
  3. Say on your form when you'll reply, and make sure you can keep the promise at night and on weekends.
  4. Move the business inbox off Gmail to your own domain, so more than one person can see it.
  5. Measure reply time, as our guide on how fast to call back a new lead explains.

Check your own enquiry flow

Our free lead leak audit walks you through the same checks we used, for your own business, in a few minutes. If you'd like every call and message answered within a minute, day and night, ask for a callback.
